KCTG Goes Back to the '50s for a Special One Weekend Only Fundraising Event...

The Kent County Theatre Guild is in need of a new HVAC system. As a way to raise money for this, the Board of Trustees is proud to announce an additional show to our 61st season: Forever Plaid.

Forever Plaid is one of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory. This deliciously fun revue is chock-full of classic barbershop quartet harmonies and pitch-perfect melodies!

Once upon a time, there were four guys (Sparky, Smudge, Jinx and Frankie) who discovered they shared a love for music, and then got together to become their idols – The Four Freshman, The Hi-Lo’s and The Crew Cuts. Rehearsing in the basement of Smudge’s family’s plumbing supply company they became “Forever Plaid.” On the way to their first big gig, the "Plaids" are slammed broadside by a school bus and killed instantly. It is at the moment when their careers and lives end, that the story of Forever Plaid begins...

Singing in close harmony, squabbling boyishly over the smallest intonations, and executing their charmingly outlandish choreography with over-zealous precision, the "Plaids" are a guaranteed smash, with a program of beloved songs and delightful patter that keeps audiences rolling in the aisles when they're not humming along to some of the great nostalgic pop hits of the 1950's.

This will be a special one weekend only fundraiser and all proceeds will go to purchasing a new HVAC system for the Patchwork Playhouse. The four guys will be played by Moe Copeland, Dan Guidice, John Muller, and Christopher Patterson. The show is choreographed by Samantha Timlin and will be directed by Nancy Muller. Musical direction will be by Eddie Cohee, and stage management will be handled by Kellie Ford, with producing duties by Jean Downes. Forever Plaid is produced by special arrangement with Musical Theatre International.

Forever Plaid will run Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30 at 8:00p, and a matinee on Sunday, May 31 at 2:00p. Tickets are $15 with general admission. Please note: No discounts will apply for this fundraising event.
